Planning & Community Development (P&CD) is responsible for land use and building permit services and long-range planning programs. The mission of the department is to ensure that the natural and built environments are healthy, safe, and reflect the community's vision by providing exceptional customer service, listening to our customers and proactively solving problems.

News
The co-lead agencies reviewing a proposal for a bulk-cargo shipping terminal at Cherry Point have posted a report summarizing the public comments received.
Tree City USA is a program that supports the enhancement and preservation of urban forestry management in communities that understand the value of an urban forest canopy.
Senior Services seeks to work with those communities that have traditionally not been present or engaged during the planning for large development projects.
Although the City of Shoreline, the Town of Woodway, and Save Richmond Beach have taken legal actions aimed at reducing the scale of a proposed development at Point Wells, the development is poised to move forward.
