Summer is mosquito and West Nile Virus (WNV) season. WNV is a mosquito-borne virus which can be spread through the bite of an infected mosquito. WNV can cause West Nile fever, encephalitis and meningitis.

Construction is moving forward on the Richmond Beach Bridge Replacement Project across 27th Avenue NW. The project will replace the aging timber bridge with a new, safer structure with increased load limits and seismic upgrades that should last 80 years or more.
